During an adoption option training, I went into a local restaurant where I read a poem entitled "Choices." This poem is symbolic to me of the choices we make, sometimes difficult and sometimes not, that are all part of the human experience. The adoption choice, like other choices, is often made after much consideration and with great difficulty. That being said, it is a life experience shared by many women on their life journeys.
The poem reads as follows:
Choices
We are given a finite amount of minutes in
our lives
What we do with them is our choice
Choices,
Sometimes hard to make
Change, scary
But the paths of our life
The roads taken, the ladders climbed
Determine the destination
